Hi All, I am involved in the Carney Lisadell race and the Sligo Credit Union Road Race League. We should have larger numbers in the race this year - also the league details can be found on facebook (search sligo road race league)
The Streets of Sligo 5k was not on it primarily because the races in the league are longer, it may be included in a future league, if it is run again. I have a feeling it might be a one off to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Sligo Champion paper.

This is on again entry on Run ireland

Sligo Athletic Club are running an 8k in Rosses Point on Saturday the 17th of September at 6pm. All runners and walkers are welcome for this event, which should mark the start of the Summer season. Entry on www.runireland.com is €12 with entry on the day being €14.
The race is a fast 8k, starting at the Beach Car Park in Rosses Point, and racing along the promenade as far as the Cregg Turn and returning to finish on the promenade in Rosses Point. There is a good elevation gain on the course, so if the conditions are favourable, It should be a good day for personal bests, especially over the 8k distance.
The addition of Chip timing and the race for points in the Sligo Credit Union Road Race League for this years race should bring an even more professional look to a race that had 400 participants last year.
Everyone is encouraged to come out for this race, which is run by runners for runners and walkers of all standards.
The Yeats Country Hotel in Rosses Point will be the race headquarters for registration, changing
facilities, refreshments and prizegiving. Registration will take place from 4pm on the day.
    AAI permit granted.
The 8k is race seven of the eight in the Sligo Credit Union Road Race League.
