    HI,

Looking for suggestions for a mother of the bride outfit. Its for my mam. She has just started looking and has a few months to get something. Its for a summer wedding, so basically just looking for ideas on colours she should wear and any suggestions of places to buy an outfit would be greatly appreciated. Based in the south east but willing to travel to get the right outfit. Also, some of the outfits she has seen so far are either too old for her or very young and short:eek:.She is in her late 50's.

    Thanks!

Have a look on the Hobbs website something there might fit the bill LK Bennett might have something either (but the sizes run small). Both have shops in Dundrum Town Centre. House of Frasier also carries a few lines that might have less motherly mother of the bride stuff.

the colour and style will depend on her colouring and size/shape so if you can given an indication of this people will probably have more advice for you.

    Hi Vintagechic,
Your mums description sounds just like my mum and she had an outfit made for my wedding last May. If you like to see a pic of her outfit then send me a PM-just if you want to get ideas like or I can send you on the link to the girl who made the dress. Only thing is my mum is up in the Northwest but no harm having a look if you like sure!

My MIL went to La Creme boutique in Gorey to pick out a mother of the groom outfit for December when her other son was getting married.

She had already bought a lovely suit in Coast, but I suppose she wanted to keep looking as she was in a bit of a style war with the mother of the bride :)

She was delighted with the assistants in La Creme and ended up wearing the outfit that she bought there. They even did adjustments to the dress for her.

Link to their Mother of the Bride selection

I would suggest going to the personal shopper service in either Debenhams or House of Fraser. If she doesnt' find an outfit there then at least she would get a very good idea of the styles and colours that suit her.

My mam bought her dress in the Coast outlet of Kildare Village. There were some very nice shops and outfits in Kildare Village. There were also some lovely boutiques in Malahide.

Try the Hula-Bou in maynooth, county kildare. They have a great selection of mother of the bride outfits. They also have a fantastic sale on at the moment. Picked up a few lovely oufits for myself there, both wedding and casual stuff.

You could try Ruby Rouge in Gorey. They have a website and a Facebook. Some stock might be a little young but it's worth checking out.
