I asked him "Lennox, what do you think of George Foreman calling you the greatest heavyweights of all time? Greeting from Ireland." and he responded:
I'm humbled by his words...but Ali was the best heavyweight ever. #EndofStory

Cool, eh? :D The same hands that responded back to me knocked out (past prime) Tyson, beat David Tua and Holyfield. :p

Anyway I agree with him. George Foreman has got it wrong IMO.

He was the last great heavyweight champions though. Ever since he left the division has been heading downwards. He was the undisputed champions and there hasn't been one since he left.

He outpointed a prime Tua, a past it Tyson, Razor Ruddock and beat Holyfield if you ask me twice. Also beat Riddick Bowe in the olympic final 88. A prime Lewis would beat any Klitschko.

Not so sure a prime Lewis would defeat a prime Vitali Klitchko.

I don't think Vitali Klitschko would be as dominant as he is against his weak opponets (bar an injured Solis) if he was in the last 80's/early 90's.

I can't see him being a 92/93 Riddick Bowe for example. Or an Evander Holyfield from the same era. Not to mention Lewis IMO.

The funny thing about Lewis is a lot of guys that he beat were being called things like "the next big thing" or " genuine threats" etc etc until Lewis beat them, at that point they started to be called easy wins and bums.

Mason, Ruddock, Morrison, Tucker, Akinwande, Mercer, Golota, Briggs, Grant, Botha, Tua, Tyson, Holyfield, and Mavrovic were all tipped to expose Lewis or to potentially expose him.

Ok some on that list did get found out after fighting Lewis, but before they fought him all were seen as being genuine threats or as being able to give Lewis trouble.

But once Lewis beat them it seemed that there had to be some excuse given as to why Lewis won.

Some were too old. Some were never any good. Some were sick before the fight.

For my money, Lewis has some damn good names on his record and most of them if not all he beat when they were still a threat and capable of giving most heavyweights trouble.

His two losses were down to poor preparation or underestimating a foe, but he did avenge those losses although the McCall ein was a bit bizarre.

His last fight with Vitali was one I think he would have lost, but that fight was stopped on cuts and his record has a big W for it.

He is a champion that never was seen as being as good as he actually was, and if a younger Lewis was around today you can be sure that the likes of Haye would be avoiding him at all costs.

His two losses were down to two of the most inch perfect "hole in one" shots you're likely to see.

Yes the shots were bang on the money, and in each case thrown by a man with power, but I think that Lewis turned up for those fight not in the best of shape, physically or mentally.

There isn't a prime HW in history that Lennox Lewis wouldn't give absoloute hell for 12 rounds

If an old and out of shape Lewis can do enough to beat a prime Klitschko then i don't see why a prime Lewis can't.

you must be joking, lewis would not give any great heavyweights the least bit of hell, for a man his size he was far too cautious. i dont think he beat holyfield in either of the fights. and his knockouts were against heavyweights who were in no way great and no great heavyweight would have been knocked out by them. he also would not have beaten a prime tyson. Lennox lewis for his size advantage was far too methodical and did not like taking chances unless he was sure he was in control and i think his two clean knockout defeats tell us why
