Boardsie as your religion?

    We've heard of people claiming they were of the Jedi religion. For the craic, why not put Boardsie as your religion! I'm sure boards can muster up enough to make an impact and it's just for shíts and giggles.

    I have lost count the amount of these threads there are now. I usually avoid but it is difficult when most of them are about bloody religion!

    I'm not using the census for the purpose of satirising religion. I hope the census results will push a secularist agenda and relegate religion to a private matter.

    Personally, I don't like having cheap pops at religion, I'd rather just avoid it.

    Count the number of threads about music, politics, Tsunamis, sex/sexuality/hot females, sport, food, pubs etc.
    There is probably about the same amount.
    Some folk just think religion gets special status and should be left alone.... but not everyone...

    why is everyone obsessed with religion and the census, what is the big deal. if I felt so strongly about it I would just ignore the question.

    I think the "mark no religion" campaign(?) is worth banging on about, it's hard to push secularism when the catholic church can point to 86.8% adherents. If that's an accurate figure then so be it, but we all know it's not.

    Writing down "Jedi" or "Boards.ie user" isn't funny or productive.

    And I'm pretty sure you need to answer every applicable question on the form.
