In anticipation of a yes vote in the constitution, let's get the ball rolling on outing potential candidates for the Exec positions.

Rules of this thread: no post without a piece of speculation.

I'll start. I've heard from a fierce reliable source that Cillian Byrne will be running for the position of Education. I've heard Collie Oliver is also thinking of re-running, for what, can anyone confirm?

Can you post who you would like to see run?

I've heard that Cillian's running for Education as well. I hope he does, done an excellent job this year imo.

Of course there's always the "Will he? Won't he?" surrounding Ed Leamy. I think he said himself on DCUfm that he's not entirely sure.

I'm really loving the 24 hour library our current SU prez got for us.

Ian McGlynn running for Education, heard from a couple of reliable sources.

Would be a very interesting battle between him and Ciller.

The VP positions should be closely contested. Some very good and experienced candidates up there!

You could get Cian, Andrew and Johan to run for the other positions. I can't see any reason at all why that wouldn't work as an SU :P

Oisin Kelly going for Engineering and Computing Convenor...

I'm actually really looking forward to it...

John Harney is considering running for prez tbf

He would be the best one ever, at least he's doing a decent course and isn't a waster like all the others in the SU!

Tim O' Regan is missing from the speculative list, education I believe...

And if it is education he'd be the best candidate by far!

It looks like all of the positions are gonna be contested. Well it's good to see that so many people have an interest in the SU.

Is it just me that would love to see some new faces elected, instead of basically the same few people just swapping around positions?

Me too, but then again I would never run and I never really have needed the SU except for providing me with great excuses not to go the the student balls ( Vanilla Ice:rolleyes:).

Paul Doherty is running for Club's Officer.

How the hell can a current SU member run for a second year for a position that isn't SU president? Some people just doing this for the power of doing **** all for a year.

Have heard Sinead Kelly has dropped out of the race for President. (only saying what I heard, sorry if not!)

While I'm great friends with Ed, this is saddening!

I've severe heartache over who to vote for Welfare. Know two of the candidates pretty well and will be hard-pushed to decide between them... most likely going to go on manifesto at this stage (which I guess is what should be done in the first place!)

Relieved I'm not involved this year... phew!
