Hi I am looking to get braces I have an overlap on my top two theeth and also have had root canal on one of the tooths, I am sure I need a few filings aswell. Is it possible to get braces when one of theet had root canal treatment. I have recently heard an add on the radio for a company offering clear braces for under €2000, I never managed to get the name of the company. Does any one know it? I think I heard it on 98FM. I was also wondering do Dental Clinics offer different payment schemes? Thanks

There are two different people who do them. The most famous are called Invisalign and the other are called...damn it cant think of the name of them.

I went to the *****no names please**** and they gave me a free consultation. I was quoted for 1200 for invisalign and only have to wear them for 9 months. But obviously it depends on the severity of your teeth.

I really wanna get them, just trying to save up some money!!! :(

    No names please folks.....

There are a bunch of brands of invisable braces.....clear aligners like clearstep and invasalign and lingual braces like incognito. Your orthodontist (http://www.orthodontics.ie/) can advise which is best for you. When you go to somebody that does only one system as the old adage goes....when your only tool is a hammer all your problems look like nails... if you catch my drift.

    Hi,

if you think you have a few cavities then get them sorted before starting orthodontics. Your dentist will provide any necessary fillings and advice on braces or contact a specialist orthodontist, look up www.orthodontics.ie

You can have orthodontic treatment with a root canal treatment as long as it has settled. Uner 2000 seems very cheap for clear braces so i think you need to look into who is providing the treatment and what kind of a brace it is

    good luck

Aside from my last 3 years of problems
    "
I would advise folk to steer well clear of ClearStep. I paid out over £4,000stg over 2 years ago for Clearstep dental treatment. Now into my third year of treatment my bottom teeth are nowhere near finished, my top teeth, the end position which I wasn't satisfied with in the first place have drifted back several stages as I have gone through two retainers because they cracked, and I'm waiting on my third retainer which will be my third in just under 8 months or so. They even tried to charge me £30 for a tray (plastic brace) that cracked while I was waiting for my next box, the turn-around time from impressions to new braces is shocking, nearly two months.
Their customer service is disgraceful, I've sent them many email enquiries and have never received as much as a reply, even my dentist is exasperated with them. I have gone through seven boxes of trays, and my treatment should finish over 3 years after I started, which is really frustrating as I can't get the cosmetic work done on my front teeth until they are ALL straight, and with my top teeth no doubt need more straightening it will presumably be 3 & 1/2 years. On top of all that they made my gums recede badly. If anyone wants proof of dates, boxes, emails, treatment etc feel free to ask, this is not a troll email, I only wish to warn people who may be considering clearstep, - I would suggest metal ones, get them in and get the treatment over with."

ClearStep now want to dictate that as my retainers are broken they can't use the impressions for said retainer they need to take new impressions! Thing is, I have my moved back to Ireland since! They also said they are unwilling to straighten any teeth that have drifted!! Bottom line-steer Clear of ClearStep!

one of the problems I can see is with the word cheap. I've been doing some research recently on braces and found these specialist orthodontists in London <snip>who wax lyrical about not going for the cheap option.

They talk about a specialist orthodontist, who might cost more but would also be able to look at the bite in great detail.

I think one of the problems is that more General dentists are now able to offer orthodontic treatments, although most of the time this is just for the six front teeth. If there are any problems with the back teeth then these dentists are not able to offer treatment.

The problem is that we tend to compare the cost of these types of orthodontics for the front six teeth with orthodontics that include all of the teeth. Obviously there is no comparison in the price.

If you only go to a regular dentist it might be that they only offer one type of orthodontic system, for example clear orthodontics. If the only training they have had in orthodontics is for clear orthodontics then you are not being offered the full range of possibilities.

If you go to a specialist orthodontist then they will have a variety of options such as clear braces, tooth coloured brackets, braces on the inside of your teeth and conventional metal train track braces.
They will be able to tell you which is the best option and also which is the lowest cost option.

    Hope that helps a bit
