How to tell if a PS3 is 80gb?

    Hi, probably sounds/is a stupid question but can anyone tell me how to find out if my ps3 is 80gb?

    check whether there's a big 8 followed by a big 0 on the front of the box

    XMB-> Settings-> System Settings-> System Information.

    I presume not but the only reason I can assume he wants to know is so he knows how much space he has which would be answered by the directions above :)

    It has 4 USB ports instead of 2.

    if the box says 80gb it doesnt matter what hard drive is in it, its still an 80gb model

    i assumed he wanted to know what model his ps3 was tbh, the space thing didnt cross my mind:confused:

    i've had the ps3 for a few years now, the box is long gone, thanks for the extremely helpful tip there helix anyway

    and when i go to system information it says 54gb/74gb?!

    Assuming you haven't changed the harddrive, sounds like an 80GB model to me. you'll never get the full 80GB in the storage information but 74GB is close enough :)

    Thanks that's what i was thinking as well, but it only has 2 usb ports?

    You would have got the newer version of the 80GB PS3 in that case. As far as I can tell, only the number of USB ports and card reader are the differences

    That's the original 60GB, not 80GB

    DD, yeah you definately have the 80GB version :)
