Anyone else watching that thing on TV3 last night with 3 Geebags discussing the current affairs!

Anyway, talk turned, as you'd expect, to the passing of Liz Taylor. They were talking about her charity work etc when the host piped up and said something along the lines of "She raised a lot of awareness about AIDS....before AIDS was glamorous!"

    Glamorous???
It's not a fashion accessory ya clitbag, typical TV3 tho, everything has to be made to sound like it was made for Expose ffs!

If Vinnie B wasn't on there you wouldn't bother watching a minute of the rubbish they put on.

I hate International football weeks, nothing on the TV Mon - Fri (or Sun for that matter)

I prefer to address them as either clitbags or geebags!

jesus christ you people will look for anything to complain about

it's a pretty damn common phrase to describe how celebrities pick and choose their favourite causes based on what is popular and back in the day aids was not a normalised disease like it is today, it was very stigmatised and people didn't like to mention it except to mention dirty gays or dirty drug users.

This world is infested with fooktards and society is getting more and more dumbed down by the minute!

The only thing worth watching on TV3 is Champions League football & their punditry is only made bearable by that hot little blonde who does the highlights of the other games.

So if you were diagnosed with AIDS in the morning would you feel 'glamorous'?

So why didn't she say 'normalised'? She's supposed to be a journalist who I would expect to have a better than average grasp of the English language!

This. To read any further into it is just being plain retarded.

Ah come on, you hardly believe she was describing the disease as glamourous. She was making a dig at celebrities who jump on popularised charity bandwagons.

The coverage for football is terrible i always watch it on mute and the radio for commentary

I actually saw the show you are on about and fair enough, she used the word ' glamourous' but I'm pretty sure that she put it into context as soon as she said it, and she meant that Liz was raising money for aids before it was fashionable to do so.

Exactly and at that time, people were afraid to shake hands with those that had HIV/ AIDS.

OP why did you leave the rest of the quote out? I was watching as well last night and while I cant remember what exactly she said after the "glamorous" comment she did make it clear that she was referring to other celebs doing Aids work to improve their public image. She didn’t say Aids was glamorous. F**k sake people will do anything to moan and complain here even if it means completely twisting someone's words.
