Good/bad drinks for hangovers?

I find that having a few pints of beer or guinness results in some form of a hangover the next day.

however I have gin sometimes, which I enjoy(don't just drink it to avoid a hangover) results in little or no hangover. would I be wrong in saying that gin is a feminine drink?

What drinks do you find good or bad for hangovers?

    Gin is a lovely drink.

    Don't know anything about hangovers

Beer and Guinness give a little hangover.

    Jack Daniels less so.

Goon or wine from a box is the worst in the world. Id cut my arm off with a rusty blade to take away from the pain in the head.

Drinks don't have genders. Are you trolling OP or just a child?

An ice cold bottle of cider always cures a hangover for me no matter what i was drinking the night before, lager/spirits .

In French it's "le gin" so it's actually a masculine drink!! :pac:

I always thought certain drinks were suited to certain genders: Have you ever seen a fella drinking an appletini or a sex on the beach?:pac:

I have allways found certain drinks produce worse hangovers than others.

What is the best way to drink gin when out at a pub or nightclub? I've only ever had it at home and mixed it with lilte.

    Sadly yes.

I find that the purer the alcohol so to say (as in spirits etc..) result in a less severe hangover or none at all. But if I was drinking cider or beer all night I'd really know about it the next morning.

Aside from dehydration, hangover effects come from congeners (chemicals produced during fermentation, basically) which are more commonly present in darker coloured drinks - port, for instance. Clear spirits like gin and vodka would have very few and in my experience produce less of a hangover. But drink anything in large enough quantities and you'll be feeling it afterwards.

Gin and tonic is the nectar of the gods...there is nothing more refreshing in my book. There are plenty of good gin-based cocktails too - I've never seriously delved into the world of the martini, but there are a lot of good gin sours, like the white lady.

I can drink a half bottle of rum and be okay next day, but more than three pints of beer and I will want to die the next morning.

Everyone is different, one of my siblings cant stomach beer at all, another lives on it.

I think tis a matter of experimenting to find what suits you and then keep it in moderation. ;)
