I recorded a video this eve while out hunting.

It is 375MB, when I try to upload to youtube it takes forever.

Anybody know any way of uploading it as a smaller file?

I tried WinZip but they want me to pay.

    I'm looking for free way.

I have a couple of deer ~4 mins of footage and I am putting this on the general shooting thread as you don't need to be a hunter to appreciate a few deer playing on a spring evening.

    Regards
    TBW

I would try and use something like Window's Movie Maker to break it into smaller parts.

    Then upload four separate parts.

Otherwise, maybe the resolution is too high and saving it at a lower resolution would save some MB's.

Is there now way to shrink it?
It's only 5 mins off my Fuji Camera

Tack you need a free video converter programm that will convert your vid to something that youtube will except and as its a smaller file size will be quicker to upload as well.

The main problem in uploading a big file is the time it takes. Youtube will convert it toa small size anyway.

Use Leawo Free iPhone Video Converter to convert a video to use on a iPhone and then upload that file you get a file of about 10% of the original.
    http://www.leawo.com/video-converter/free-iphoneconverter.html

Use Free Zune Video Converter 1.1 to convert just about any file type to any other file type

    Tack,
    What format is the file?

    There's a great site called ZamZar.com

You can upload a format and download it another.

For example, once I needed to open a publisher (.pub) file but did not have the program. I uploaded the file and downloaded it as a pdf and doc - worked well.

Perhaps, if you send the file you have and try to download it as a .mov, it will do the compression for you?

    you could try this from

    http://www.ehow.com/how_4549342_upload-large-videos-youtube.html

    UPLOADING LARGE VIDEOS TO YOUTUBE

Uploading videos to YouTube is not a difficult process. You may have discovered, however, that larger files often seem to stall out. This is because YouTube will only allow files less than 100MB to be uploaded in the standard way. Unfortunately, YouTube doesn't make it clear that this is the case, so many people end up watching the "uploading" bar, waiting for an end that will never come. Avoid this dilemma by following the steps below.

    Difficulty:ModerateInstructions

    1
Sign in to YouTube as you normally would when you want to upload files. Then click on your user name at the top of the screen.

    2
Click "Upload" in the top menu to go to the uploader screen. Keep in mind that this is where you have to do things differently.

    3
Look to the right-hand side of the screen. There, in what looks like an advertisement, are actually the instructions for uploading large files, but few people notice them.

    4
Click on the "Use Multi-video Uploader" button under the text, "Upload Files Larger Than 100MB or Upload Many Files at Once."

    5
Follow the on screen instructions that appear. You will have to download and install a special web browser component that YouTube will install. You will be asked which browsers to install it to, so be sure to click on each browser that you use for YouTube.

    6
Return to the "Upload" screen after installation is complete. Again, click on the "Use Multi-video Uploader" button.

    7
Click the button marked "Add Videos to List" on the new screen. You can now add as many videos as you would like, and they can be of any size. YouTube will then start to upload them in the order listed on screen. You can also see exactly how far along each file is to be sure that no files have stalled out.

    "See without being seen"
    The true way to stalk.
i could have popped anyone of them had they been in season.

There was a young lad in a field near them hooning up and down on a motorcrosser that was ruining the moment :D

    I need a better camera.
    They are always there.
I shot one in the same field every other year since I was a teenager

They are me back up deer, if all the other spots fail I go after them.
I try not to be greedy and take only a few prickets and the occasional Doe.
The big Buck I shot there 5 years ago now was replaced twice since.

They are not spooked by machinery, but voices or twigs snapping and they are gone.
Hopefully I will shoot 1 or 2 of them a year all my days.(5 mins from my door ;) )

    Tack,
You wouldn't get out of the car and walk in the field? How about snapping a few twigs?

Are they as skitterish now as during the season? I would try either or both - a bit of conditioning for later.

Would be hard to miss a shot there - just get the elevation and you're bound to get something.

That is a clover field :D
I've shot many in that field or the surrounding fields

    Nice vid there tack.

It's lovely to see them out and about in the open like that. Gives hope for next season.

Did that buck only have one antler.

The bucks and does around my way have broken up into separate herds for a while now

    Cheers tack. Nice vid.

+1 poulo, nice to see them relaxed enough to be playing and tipping about a bit.

They look like good sized animals, comparing them to the buck that was milling about. Do you remember what the weights were like on the ones youve taken from there?

My scales is broken (well, it's not but I used the hook for something else)
A lot of fat on the rump.

    Really tasty animals

That it is, I have to adhere to a few rules on that permission, no driving. I have to give notice before I go out (that is just a txt to say I am heading out and when)

But other than that it is a small oasis.
    I mind them though.
I'd hate to see them disappear

Thats great Tack, you have access to a great spot were no one else can get in. Mind or rather manage the deer and it will serve you for many a year. Its the sort of spot you will hopefully teach your kids or someone similar to stalk in time. Might be an idea to get a salt lick etc to help them along, I know they are in great condition but it can't but help.

There is "1" other stalker in the area as of this year, But plenty to share ;).
They eat the best of barley, they don't need salt :D:D

That is only one of my deer permissions, I have a few.
I try each different spot each time I go out.

There is a lot of Free shooting out there, just takes the gift of the gab, and a bit of manners.
If Farmer Joe says no driving in fields, no driving.
Simple things, closing gates properly; fixing any loose wire if you are crossing a fence etc.

Or just blocking a gap if a farmer is moving stock !

Touche, just taking the p**s as usual, I thoroughly enjoyed the video, afraid my game limited to foxes, bunnies and greys with the odd mink, I have stalked deer with a buddy but don't have the bucks unfortunately to get into deer shooting.
On a serious note I do enjoy your posts, you are a guy who is fairly passionate about the sport and about wildlife in general.:)
