Why cash ? if things go sour there will be no record of his work, and if its cash he might not even have insurance ?
For a job of this size you want records of the transactions and that he is insured just incase things go wrong.

And to be fair i wouldnt tell you if thats a good quote or bad quote without seeing the plans and having a better idea of the spec.

Be warned, cash job guarantees aren't worth the paper they are written on.

There are many examples of court cases being throw out where a client brings a firm to court, if the job was cash, the court will not entertain it as ye both wilfully defrauded the state.

As said previously, get three or more quotes to get an idea of the average cost of the job and most importantly, compare like with like. Just don't look at the bottom line.

well with vat included about 17000 and then 18020 if we want to go with back boiler. we are finding it very hard to get a good plumber in our area so that was why i wanted to post here to see if anyone think it good price.

Depends on where you live, but not overly expensive. Get more quotes, pick names form golden pages if to get an average price in your area.

Bring your plans into a plumbing supply place. Leave them there for a few days, and ask them to price it for above. Whats he using for piping?? Copper (i doubt it). or something else.
youll see then what hes making out of it.

My word. Of course he is, do you think that the OP is going to buy the stuff and say, now plumber u put this in for nothing. However, it might do him no harm to realise the cost of the materials. Because I think its not a bad quote below. But the detail is in the Detail, he needs to know what the plumber is supplying as well.

I would highly recomend you to put in a solid fuel boiler as well.its very practical instead of the fireplace,

You be sorry if u wont !!!

Hundreds of people are putin them in in the egsisting houses

If u cant afford to buy a stove or etc. just ask ur plumber to leave a pipes for it at the fireplace.

Definately have the pipes fitted for a solid fuel stove.

In our newly renovated bungalow I fitted a solid fuel boiler stove and it heats the whole 2 bed detatched bungalow with new 40 sqm rear extension very well, even in that cold spell!! We didn't fit any other form of heating like oil as oil is very expensive and we don't need any other heat. The stove is fab:D
