Not getting married in your own parish

    We're not getting married in the parish we live in so have made an appointment to meet the priest for him to sign off on it. We have to bring our baptismal and confirmation cert. Does anyone know how long this takes? Does he have to send it off somewhere or does he just sign off on it there and then?

    We only have 4 months so I hope it won't take long.

    You have to fill out a pre nuptual enquiry form with him. It took about 20 mins for me. As long as you have all the paperwork and have done the pre marriage course it is pretty straightforward. The form is here so you'll know what to expect:
