Hi, just wondering if people have any recommendations or opinions on any cheap trolleys. Don't really play very often so don't want to spend too much. Saw one on a website for about 70 sterling - seemed good value, would they be readily available for around that price in any stores in Ireland?

Never use them myself but a couple of mates bought the electric trolleys in Woodies (€150 I think). Both of them started having electrical and battery problems within 6-9 months and they both ended up buying more expensive models.

Simple answer - you get what you pay for. Much better to get a recognised brand such as Powakaddy, Mocad, Golfmotion - it'll work out cheaper in the long run.

On closer inspection it's not electric. Think i just saw the name Powacaddy and presumed that it was. Oh well, anyone have any better suggestions!

Don't have 1 but i would advise not going cheap. From what I've seen even people who spend top dollar have problems with them. can only imagine how useless a cheap and cheerful would become

    I can recommend the GoKart.

Got one for this season and have found it great. Motor is a little loud in comparison to the high-end PowerCaddy models, but you get used to that quite quickly.

I have a Pulsar model (4 yrs old about) and it's fine. Does the job and I find the battery - although it appears smaller than most - is very long lasting when fully charged. I think the reason it lasts so well is because the cart's 'top speed' seems to be slower than most... So don't race yours against your mates for money - you will lose!

Overall though, I'm not particularly fond of using them. I starting carrying a couple of years back and I've only taken the Pulsar out a few times since. I leave the clubs in the car permanently and it's nice not to have the huge feckin Electric Cart in there too.

I love just being able to pull the clubs in and out and you're ready to go. That said, on the really warm days or going to a course that's particularly hilly with alot of walks - I'll prob get the Kart out again.

Played Palmerstown House on Monday, lovely warm day - carried the clubs and I must say I was wrecked later on. Quite a few walks between holes etc. Happened me last year too, playing Killeen Castle on a roasting day. Carried the clubs and crawled in off the course! :D

Buying a cheap trolley is like pouring money down the drain, they simply dont last. Buy a good quality 3 wheel push/pull trolley, easy to push and much cheaper.

Don't but a cheap one. You'll end up either constantly repairing or in the end replacing. Whatever about pulling a regular trolley, it's no fun pulling an electric that's packed in halfway through your round.

All opinions of course, but I wouldn't touch the Pulsar. I know of a good few that have given problems, mine included.

I can vouch for not buying a cheap electric trolley. An ad in the paper prompted a look, tried to haggle, no budging and €120 later its in the boot. 1 year later, its in the bin.

After a few endorsements from posters on here I'm the owner of one since last week too.Like someone said,a little bit loud but no harm done.

Was expecting a clutch or something on it to stop it rolling on slopes too which was a bit of a downside though.

Hope I get the 3 years out of it too.
