prices of blockwork

hi all

just wondering if anyone has built in the last couple of months and can advise me of some prices for blockwork, we are building in mayo and our house is 2300sq ft. we have been told it is just over 7000blocks. we have been given one price of €6200 and another of €5000
any help will be appreciated

Hello,
89cent a block or 71cent a block. Good prices for the blocklayer imo. Make sure work is perfect, hold a few shillings till following trades say it is square, straight, clean, level, and fully finished.

Check that that includes the lintles and cills, scaffold (if needed), props, teleporters etc.

I paid €3k for 3800 blocks including all of the above (they even fit the insulation around the opes for me)

thanks for the advice guys. im in the middle of getting some more prices, the best so far is €5k for everything and this lad comes highly recommended.

Hi paid .65 per block cash. included cills. they had there own mixer. very good job done they were highly recommended

I’ve a 2800sqft house and I was quoted €12,500 by 2 separate guys. It’s a L-shaped house, storey and a half. I calculated it at 8000 blocks approx.
Waiting on a few more quotes back but the general figure from boards is that it should be between 6-8k.

Id say yer talking around 50 - 70 cent a block. pending if yer willing to pay cash. dont forget to have a neck an argue yer price.

we received another price for €4500 which is the one we are going for as he comes highly recommended, which works out as a good price. the highest we got was €6550

So €4500 for 7000 blocks to be laid?
how much you paying for the blocks?
cement ?
how long you yold it would take to lay them?

ya thats the price for the blocks to be laid, told it would be 13 days to wall plate. we priced 6 different people, all came recommended, all we are happy with the lad that we are going with as we have seen his work

the price on blocks were €480 for 1000blocks which was the best price and it is the company we want to use as well. we also got the concrete from them as well.

100 x 4 inch building blocks for 50 euro from a well known Builders Providers near the Walkinstown Roundabout.:)

I only paid 43c a block. Oddly the builders providers charged 43c & the crowd they were getting them from were charging me the same. Next time I'll push the manufacturers for 1c over the trade price :-)
