Applied for my driver cpc truck theory test today, then went into easons and bought the question bank and case studies booklet. What a load of s**te that is.
Now i get the way the question bank is done, read the question and answer a,b,c. ok that's easy enough to understand from the book.

But the case studies, there are 9 case studies in the book.It doesn't let you know what type of questions to expect, what good is that to me.

How do i know what to expect in the test?

The test asks you questions about truck driving and current laws from the case studies. It's still multiple choice questions, at least when I did it a few years ago.

Once you know the ROTR and have read all the CPC and theory test questions the case studies shouldn't be too bad.

Trust me Del, the case studies are a bloody nightmare these days. You've no way of studying for the exam and some of the questions asked only an experienced truck driver would know. It really is the look of the draw on the day.

ok there was no reply in this thread for long so its time to refresh it ;)

I have a question and cannot find an exact answer anywhere on google and related rsa or prometric sites.

I have sat CPC Theory Tests (MCQ and Case Studies) for Truck today and completed them successfully; before Driving test for Truck I want to do the same CPC for D!

Do I have to repeat CPC MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION Test? It is exactly the same for C and D...

I know there was possibility to do CPC for both truck and bus at one time but I couldn't do that :P

Doing Case Studies for Bus and Truck Separetly is certain as its totally different scenarios but MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION part is the same for both so what is the point in doing it again?

How it looks like. do I have to do it again or not (MCQ)

    thank you

No you don't thank god. You only have to do the Bus Case Studies if you already hold the CPC MCQ for the Truck.

But each year you'll have to do 2 CPC courses instead of one to keep your CPC rights for Bus/Truck.

What if someone acquired rights automatically for truck CPC.
And now wants to do D licence (bus) and bus CPC.
Does such person has to pass both MCQ and case study tests?

I thought if you hold both C and D cateogry licence and CPC, what you have to do is 6 CPC modules over 5 years period, so it's definitely not 2 a year.

That I coudn't tell you, Would assume that because they are only starting out on the process of getting their D Licence that they'd have to do both CPC tests? Best to ring the RSA than get incorrect information. Or look up RSA.ie

Sorry what I meant to say was you'll have to do 2 in one year to make up the 6 modules not 2 every year.
