So its Arnie's Tournament this weekend with the like of McDowell, Woods,
Johnson, Mickelson and Els all taking part.
Would be nice to Sergio back up there again and hopefully make a charge at
    the weekend this time around.
I wouldnt have a clue who would be a good bet to win but last years
champion Els at 33/1 takes my fancy.

    Keegan Bradley @175/1(top 20 finish 7/1)
    JJ Henry @125/1

great field for the tournament and on very tough golf course.
Go Garcia e/w for the laugh and Els at 33/1 is great value for defending champion who is not in bad form at all.

    I've gone with Eddie Molinari 1,000,000,000 E/W @ 55/1

He came second there last year.

Have a feelin about woods, might just stick a tenner on him @ 8/1 :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,936 ✭✭✭AdpRo

Going to go with Woods to win, he is due a win and loves this place.

    Also small e/w's on:

Chris Couch - finsihed top 5 last week and was 3rd here last year, excellent putter however he is poor out of sand.
B Snedeker - in great form after the birth of his first child, played really well last week and I think he will go well again.
Kevin Na - Did ok last week, has been playing well all year and finished well up here last year.

Don't ahve any prices as have no access in work but going to back them at lunchtime!

    Vijay Singh 33/1 - €10 e/w

Lay Tiger big time. 8/1 to win......AVOID!!

Jaysus McDowell's having a bit of a shocker today, 5 bogies no birdies after 11 and joint last :o

Could this be Rickie's week to break the duck?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,431 ✭✭✭dvemail

Pretty bad start from McDowell alright. Would be nice to see Fowler pick up a
victory this week but whether it would be worth putting up with all the American hoopla
for the next few weeks is left to be seen.

    Went for

    D Johnson 16/1
    Couch 45/1
    Laird 40/1

    All e/w of course!

80 for Snedeker, 7 over front 9 (his back 9).....the kid must have been keeping him awake this week! At least Couch has started well.

    All e/w of course!

I only got 33/1 for Couch in PP at lunchtime, thought it was pretty short but as it was in running I presumed he had started well and shortened.

Els 3 over through 10 holes already...his putting has been brutal once again, still she beat Gmac for the day though...he shot 8 over par :eek:

Ikeda on the par5 has a putt for a 10!
He hit it into the water 3 times...

whos that fat guy out on the course pretending to be tiger woods??

the bay hill open - up there with the masters imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Tiger finishes at 1 over for his round. While he would be disappointed to bogey the last, he hasnt shot that bad of a score due to the blustery conditions. He is only 7 shots off the leader Levin but he is bound to brick himself so realistically he is only 4 off the lead of Hunter Mahan.

Tiger is carrying a bit of timber alright, ain't he...

I beleive he is getting less cardio than he was up to to the end of 2009?

I know that's why I'm so skinny, anyway

Well Spencer Levin ain't holding back today either, -3 for the day and now 6 ahead of
the field. The cut looking like it could be +3 maybe even worse, so a chance for
G-mac to possibly make the weekend.

Tiger shot a -4, 68 to be 5 off the lead.
Ryo Ishikawa looking like another missed cut in America, i know his mind is probably
elsewhere but how many cuts has he actually made in America?
He's won so many times in Japan already but so far he's failing miserably in the States.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Nice to see Tiger shooting a nice score today and putting himself in contention at the weekend and it will be interesting to see how his new swing stands up to the pressure of winning.

While its nice to see Tiger playing well, its even better to see Sergio shooting 4 under as well today.

Mannasero looks like he will miss the cut and probably miss the Masters now :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Mickelson had a triple bogey 8 today :D

Nice to see Ikeda come back today with a nice round of 3 under after his troubles yesterday

Laird looking a lot like Tim Clark these days.

I've got a sneaky suspicion that someone is going to come out of nowhere to win this tournament.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,990 ✭✭✭Trampas

tiger dropping back and still giving me no reason why he will be fighting for a green jacket but many still think he will do it.

I'm starting to wonder when we'll ever see him win again! His swing is all over the place AND for some reason he's trying to change one of the best short games in the world while he's at it!?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,431 ✭✭✭dvemail

So Martin Laird has a two shot advantage, wonder can he come away with a victory.
The way SkySports talk about him he will probably win it and nobody will even realise he
won because he's just so quiet. :p

    Levin started badly

Bit of a horror show from Laird, still might get a play-off.

First time I'm watching the golf this week. The green at 17 is a bit ridiculous isn't it.. and what's up with the bunkers, very soft sand.

    Marino :/

    edit - nice putt Laird

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

Marino doubles 17 and Laird birdies 15 & 16 to take a 2 shot lead. Big swing and should see Laird home.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

does anyone want to win the tournament :P all bricking themselves :D

Very impressive birdie from Marino on 18 after the double on 17.

    Laird wins

Laird holes out for the win. Good on him after a shaky round.

What did Miller say this time? Another dig at Poulter?

Nah, he just seemed to be willing Laird to bogey the last. Right down to the the fairly short putt he had for par, telling us how 'guys not used to winning normally miss left..' The man just annoys me.

Have to agree, although a great player in his own right you'd swear he invented the game the way he talks. Couldn't believe it when he criticised Laird for celebrating getting that 90 foot put to 3 feet. Arsehole!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,543 ✭✭✭JerryHandbag

Oh yeah I actually saw that bit at the end. Laird was just raising his hand to acknowledge the crowd and Miller seemed to say he was celebrating prematurely. He's either blind or bitter.

Doesnt like the yanks being regularly beaten in their backyards these days I imagine.
