Wedding Makeup Recommendations

    Hi All,

I have a wedding coming up and wanted to get some recommendations on where to get my makeup done on the day, only thing is it has to be in the dundrum/rathfarnham area, have already made hair appt in dundrum shopping centre so ideally somewhere close by would be perfect!

I have tried Mac, Bobbi Brown and Chanel but all are already booked up for the time I need, not too keen on getting makeup done with Benefit, Clairns or Clinque-their makeup doesnt suit me. Has anyone ever gotten their makeup done in the new beauty salon beside peter mark on level 4?Is it better to get makeup done in a beauty salon or a makeup counter or are they all professionally trained?

Would really appreciate some advice as my mind is a bit boggled!

Also looking for a good beauty salon for facial and massage, again in and around the same area, any recommendations?

    Thanks,
    Dee

Dee, I would definitely reccommend going to a counter over a beauty salon, I've had some bad experiences!! Try lancome or estee Lauder in Dundrum... They've amazing makeup with fantastic staying power!! Perfect for wedding! The girls are also very well trained so don't worry about that:-)

I agree with this, Beauty therapists are almost never trained in Make-Up,

I would definitely recommend a fully qualified make-up artist who has had experience at a counter rather than a beauty salon. Products that are used in salons tend not to be the best quality and most of the time the artists are only trained in basis make-up. They would not be trained in how to adapt the make up to the individual in terms of the photographs that would be taken at a wedding (Photographers flash is very strong and can pick up anything ie: not properly blended makeup :P).

I'd recommend Inglot in dundrum. just maybe go in a few days before and chat to them. Little kiva works there and shes a make up guru on youtube so maybe take a gander at her videos. I have a few of there products and find there eyeshadows as good as Mac and there gel eyeliner the best ever.
