Just so the conversation doesn't get lost in the other thread.

To keep the game from getting a bit stale, has anyone any suggestions to make it a bit more interesting? i've one or two ideas but i want to see what ye come up with first :)

How about, every player in the game (as in, every player in the list) gets one super-kill. Instead of taking away 20 points, you can take away 50.
    Rules of the super-kill:

    • You need to be playing the current game
    • You need to be alive
    • You can only do it once per game.

Might spice it up a bit!

Oh, and posting a death video is an official rule!

I've been trying to post a video and it keeps appearing as a white box :( Also sometimes I'm on boards on my phone and it's a lot of hassle to post a video using my phone.

You only need to put the string of numbers in the youtube link in the youtube tags!

Thanks. Not every site is the same and I'm used to using the embed button from youtube.

You know an official rules post might be an idea, I only found links to Last Man Standing Rounds 4 and 5 and there was nothing said the in the original post about having to post a death video.
    reallyrose wrote: »
It's not really an official rule, more of an accepted custom.
    micayla wrote: »
Well that's fair enough but not all new folks are going to be aware of that custom.
    reallyrose wrote: »
I know, that's why I suggested making it a for realz rule. :)
    whiteman19 wrote: »
Very good idea...i like :) anyone have anything else they'd like to add?

i was thinking of having a "speed" round every 3-4 rounds where the 24 hour limit is reduced to 1 or 2 hours. thoughts?

i'll put that death video rule in the next round along with how to embed a youtube vid :)

EDIT: koth's post below just made me think of another idea...how about a team game? Tuddites and Koth-ers are the team...non players can take points off anyone
    reallyrose wrote: »
Honestly, I think that would be confusing. You'd have people logging into the thread after a day or two getting confused and it would be too easy to lose track of what your turn is.

Maybe an alteration of the rule? *thinks*
    hondasam wrote: »
    how about playing partners
    whiteman19 wrote: »
maybe increase it to a higher limit?

    *ponders*

edited my post above...was thinking of teams after koth's posts...the Tuddites and Koth-ers :D
    reallyrose wrote: »
Good idea. I shall request some intervention by Mod to split the relevant posts away. :)
    hondasam wrote: »
how many in a team ? would the game end to soon ?
    ToniTuddle wrote: »
That's a funky idea but then it would only be good for the people who would be online at that time.....hmmmm.... *ponders*

    WOW

You surely don't mean me and Koth having to team up and ......"work together":eek::eek::mad::mad::mad::p

thanks koth i was too lazy to multi-quote everything :P

    So far the ideas are
    • Superkill - Take 50 points off another poster - only applies to players, can only be used once, and have to be alive to use it.
    • Speed rounds - 24 hour limit is reduced
    • Team games - Players split into whatever number of teams (koth and tuddle on separate ones :P) and fight each other.
    • must post a death video

Anyone else has any ideas, please feel free to share :)

What if you tried letting those who are in the game add/subtract more than those who aren't?

    Maybe a sliding scale like:

Not playing: add 5, subtract 10
Playing but eliminated: add 10, subtract 20
Playing and still alive: add 15, subtract 30

You could also let people playing post every 12 hours and those not playing still stick to every 24 hours...

It would be good to give people an incentive to play and might make the rounds move a bit quicker too...

Will try and get some suggestions this evening.

We should try and keep everything simple enough that new posters won't be too likely to have problems figuring out the rules.

My tuppence worth - leave it as it is. I like it - but then it is my first game. If it go by too quickly or too fast, that wouldn't be good either. Those of us who aren't on the internet a couple of times a day will get toasted.

Design a new game with all the ideas from here - a 24 hour game, post as often as you like, but only after another poster.

I'd be with you QM with regards to the frequency of posting. I think the 24 hour between posts allows for more people to be involved in each round.

    Make it photo based

You can only deduct points from someone by posing a photo of you doing a dramatic attack pose.

You only give health by posting a photo of delicious food for them to eat.

Get a judge to decide how many points are lost/gained by awesomeness of attack pose and deliciousness of food photo.

This will encourage awesome levels of funny photo posing and prop usage.

Maguined looked upon what he created, and it was good!

Oh I agree, I enjoy a well timed and executed ribbing even if it is against myself.

    Well played KOTE, well played.
