    TV.

Without it, dictatorships couldnt exist. People would be independent. Deviance would be impossible. So would propaganda.

Every single intelligent person on this planet has one thing in common. They dont watch it.

If you do not, or do not want, to watch TV, post here and meet others who agree with you.

    This is nonsense
Most dictatorships have existed before TV.
Iran is jamming Satellite TV uplinks from powerful transmitters in Cuba.

Did Marx say that TV was the Opium of the Masses? He might have if still alive as there is a lot of rubbish on TV.

But we have program guides, reveiws, channel switch, mute and an off switch.

Propaganda uses Radio, books, paintings, social networking on Internet, web pages, comics, papers, people, churches, schools, parliaments, Mosques, bill boards, music.

There is good and bad propaganda, truth, lies and cleverly presented truth that decieves and misleads.

TV is a tool for good or bad. With Satellite TV, Shortwave Radio, fax, phone and Internet a Dictator doesn't even have exclusivity of propaganda.

No, religion is the opium of the masses!

Dictators use everything at their disposal to their advantage including TV.

As to the OP, ff there weren't TV crews on the ground in Libya there would probably be no UN resolution.

It was television that ended the Vietnam war, the US people could not stomach the images of that young girl with all her clothes burnt off.

It's the images that change minds.

Some is. But Marx was a Jew and not an Irish Catholic.

Thread's on topic, but seeing how the OP decided to cross post it around Boards, I think I'm duty bound to close it, as that's verging on spamming Boards.

This one appears to be the original of the species:
