mods move if need be not sure if its in the correct place

does anyone know what could happen in this situation.

You buy a house and the old owners leave 3 bins of rubbish there. After calling the bin company you are told they will not collect their bins(take them away alltogether as you are not with them) unless you are a customer, and then suggest you change bin company to them

You say no(too expensive) and tell them if they dont collect their bins by 2 weeks you will throw them in a skip. You also email this as proof. They dont collect the bins. When they have called to the estate you go out to the drivers and ask them to take away the bins and they refuse

So a month after the 1st contact you call the company and tell them to collect their bins because theres a skip coming the next week and they will be going in it. They say "unless your a customer we wont collect them) again.

So skip comes a week later , and after getting rid of all the stuff you throw the full 3 bins in too. The next week you get a call saying the bins will be collected in a month but you will have to pay for a months bin collection(even though your not with them). After you tell them the bins are gone in a skip you are told that its illegal to get rid of their property and that i will be contacted by a supervisior.

Ok so i have proof i told them to take their bins (emails), i got rid of them after 6 weeks since 1st contact(they were stinking out my garden) after being told a week before they wont collect them(for the 100th time) and i have proof that i told them on numerous occasions that they were going into a skip

    can they actually do anything?

They may go after you. Just keep all your correspondence and take any letter demanding payment that they send to you along with the correspondence to a solicitor.

It's likely that if you explain the situation to the supervisor, they'll just leave it... in reality, they should be going after the previous homeowners tbh.

well the previous homeowners told the company their bins would be empty and outside waiting for them they day we moved in.Bill was paid up to date. Nope they were left in my shed full of anything and everything.

I was getting a skip anyway so to empty them myself(or pay the company to) would make me out of pocket and i shouldnt have to be

    bins ? what bins ?
you emailed them to request that they remove them from your property
.................... and now they are gone.
You love the customer service of company x and wish their prices were lower so you could do business.

Not very helpful guys, considering if you read the OP he specifically told them on at least one occasion that he put the bins in a skip.

ha thanks for the laughs all:)

the supervisior called me earlier, ended up in a big argument with the man and he told me they recieved no emails from me (though i have them saved in sent items) and said i never said i would throw the bins in a skip , and when i said "Your calls are recorded so you know i said it and deleating that is illegal" i got the "We have no record of your calls line"

Me : So the "we record calls for training purposes" i hear before i get through to you is a lie"

Him "No its just we dont record all calls and i apoligise but there is no record of your calls"

Me: Well i have a phone bill that begs to differ, its funny with the million calls i made to you you have no record of any EXCEPT the last one where i told you id gotten rid of your bins. And if there was "No record of my calls then how did you have my number to call me in the 1st place

After this i was informed i was being agressive (ha) and that he would have head office call me regarding this

    sure sure:rolleyes:

What does he think head office will do? They are hardly going to phone an aggressive person to discuss their er aggression.

You took all the right steps. You emailed, you called, you kept the records and you have all your back up in order. They don't have a leg to stand on. If they are foolish enough to take it further and you can prove that you called them and the call duration a judge will tell them it was their responsibility to follow up on your correspondence and to collect in a timely manner and not refuse to do so. It's their problem, I can't see any major difficulties.

It pisses me off so much when they talk like this. These days I just tell them to put an adult on the line instead of some kid afriad of a raised voice.
