Has anyone got any experience with these loans? I need to take out a loan to buy a laptop for college and was wondering if its to late to get this type of loan or what way does it work?

    cheers

No particular experience myself with these loans but from what I was told, before applying for a 'bigger' loan you need to have a credit record of money going into your account (even if it's only small amounts per week/month) and you also need to have a record of taking out a loan and also repaying it (again it can be a small loan).

Every Credit Union can be different but generally unless you don't have an account and haven't been paying money in weekly/monthly into one then I wouldn't imagine you will be successful in acquiring a loan. If you have though then it's good as generally the Credit Unions can be quite flexible in regards repayments etc.
