Nice one, have now Sky news and all Irish channels on my iPad. Great quality too. Where now for the TV licence? Cheers OP.

I seem to be having the same problem, not the iPhone because it worked before on 3G

    Thanks OP.

Now, what the name of that app that makes the phone think 3G is wifi? ;)

3G Unrestrictor, is the name off the app, I've tried it , it doesn't work.

    Bolleaux! :(

Back on topic, is it only the Irish channels we'll get?

It's not working for me. I'm on an iPhone 4.

this is deadly only downside is that it is pretty heavy on data but the quality over 3g is unreal..... are there anymore sites like this like 4od?:D

I take it one must be a Magnet sub?

No, you just sign up on their website for the free Irish channels. A warning though, my son purchased their student 16 channel package only to find it uselss unless viewed on the university's wifi. Pretty pointless as he's just out there for studying. He tried to cancel hs direct debit of their website but it's not possible. Buyer beware. Be very aware.

I think it's a carrier problem  It worked when I was an 02 pay go customer and now I'm a 3 All you can eat data contract user.

EDIT: Actually mines playing over 3G now, perhaps you need to be on a certain speed. Or load the website on WiFi then watch on 3G (What I did)

Ditto. Very impressive. Had to log onto my gmail account in a browser to get to the spam folder and activate the account.

I suppose it working overseas would be too much to wish for?

You should be able to access your gmail spam folder through the mail app on your iPad.

When you go into the link Magnetwebtv.ie on your iOS device, does it redirect you to another, mobile specific page? If so, could some one post the link to it please.

    Still works...here's what I did.

Logged in on iPhone first and it didn't work, then I logged in on my iMac and it did work! So I logged in again on the iPhone and a message popped up on the iMac to say session expired as I logged in on another device, then it worked perfectly on the iPhone.
Maybe you have to logout first if it's set up on your computer?

    Hope this makes sense. :)

How odd: have never used it other than on iPad. Was working fine the other day. Nothing but an ad for Magnet at the moment.

Select the programme on the other channel by clicking it on the epg below the video window.

I never got this working, I just get sent to the desktop site and the EPG just stays loading constantly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,540 ✭✭✭freeze4real

it seems this site has crashed or something.

I tried watching the champions league tonite and it didnt work .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,990 ✭✭✭squonk

Not sure if it helps anyone but there seems to be a 'funny' on the webTV site. From what I see, you need to play the magnet ad before the EPG loads. You need to do this manually on IOS. Only once did I see the ad play automatically and then load the EPG. The rest of the time I had to play the ad before the EPG loaded. Works fine on my iPad & iPhone4 anyway.
