Values are different there, so you'll need local advice on that. With that kind of age/mileage, a lot comes down to the condition of the actual cars - again, he'd have to have someone who knows what they're at look before he buys. What I can tell you is that, from a car enthusiast's viewpoint, those three are all muck. I mean, isn't Australia the land of the V8 saloon - why go there and buy a truck?:)

Unfortunatly the question has no relevence here as vehicle values, maintenance, engine specs and the cost of fuel do not compare in the slightest.

The pathfinder for example, we don't have the petrol engined models here(3.3v6) and fuel cost would not be an issue in australia for the 4.0 v8 cherokee.

But if, as you've said, someone is giving him a 3 year warranty with the pathfinder which has 320k on it then it seems a no brainer to me.

Sorry should have said, he's a carpenter and needs it for work.

you have a point but like I said, it was a text I got off him and I was completely stumped as they are all completely different and I've both givin and received some good advice/opinions here, (from both you and Anan in the past too might I add), and just said fúck it I'll throw it on boards and see what I get.

Thanks for your opinion, the 3 year warranty thing seems completely crazy to me, I've a feeling he might be mistaken.

Buying a truck over a V8 Ute is missing the point IMO. Also Oz is the land of LPG too, lots of LPG fuel and cars there, would mean running costs much lower than a V8 would suggest.

From your list I went with the Mitsi. Landcruisers seem to be the big seller over there, maybe look at one of them.
