Itunes --- USB mouse not working anymore

    Hi, since playing Itunes on my laptop two days ago my USB optical mouse has stopped working. The same mouse works in other computers, but no other mouse works on my laptop now. The touchpad works. I have tried many suggested solutions: uninstalled and reinstalled mouse drivers, uninstalled Itunes, uninstalled and reinstalled USB controllers, rebooted...Nothing works. Does anybody have any idea what might be the problem? Thanks.

    What OS are you using?? If it's Windows, did you try doing a System Restore?

    I'm using Windows Vista. I haven't tried a system restore --- I don't know much about computers --- can I do much damage if I try that?

    No.

    The whole point is that it should return your system to a previous untroubled state.

    Do a search for system restore from the start menu. Pick a date from last week and see if that helps.
