Credit union account for a band.

    Quick question, does anyone know the requirements for opening a credit union account for a band/business etc..
    We're putting away some money each week to fund the recording of our album and want to put it in an account of some sort.
    Can we open an account in the name of the band or will an individual have to do it.

    To open a credit union account as a group/society you must fulfill the 'commen bond' requirement of the CU. For most CU's this will mean that the majority if the members of the society will live or work within their defind geographic area.

    As an example if there are 5 of you and you try and join say Stillorgan CU, at least 3 of you must live or work within the boundrys defined by the credit union.
