Getting an Indian Visa during a Yearlong RTW trip

    Hi

I'm hoping someone could provide my wife and I some information on possibilities for obtaining and Indian visa while on our round the world trip. My understanding is that the tourist visa lasts for 6 months. We leave for central America in June and will likely not hit India until April or May 2012. So getting a visa in Dublin before we head off is not really an option if it only last 6 months from date of issue.

Does anyone know if it would be relatively easy to get an India visa in somewhere like Australia or Hong Kong while we are there so we would be within the 6 months?

Thanks for any advice in advance!
    K

Thanks for the reply. Yes I actually mailed them yesterday and will ring or call in if I hear nothing back soon.

On off chance that anyone know what the possibilities are I'd still appreciate some advice from someone who ma have faced the same situation in the past.

I think that you can apply to the embassy in the country you are residing in at that time. You need to show proof why you cant apply in your own country and it will cost a little more, and take a little longer too.

Thats what I gather from my own research about my own trip.
