Toyota celica advice

some of the 140bhp models were notorious oil burners, check for the usual tell tale signs of an oil burner.

personally if i was buying a celica i'd look for the 190bhp version just to be safe.

other than that, they are a safe bet.

I wouldn't touch one as it's very hard to establish if it's guzzling oil or not.

I'd like the 190bhp model as well but im 23 with 2 years ncb and insurance is quiet a bit different

i was considering the 140bhp model for similar reasons to yourself but just ditched it in the end, like James said its like a minefield looking for a gud'un.

have you gotten a quote on either model? the difference may not be as big as you might imagine.

I've owned a 190bhp version for the last 3 years apart from serviceing and a set of tyres it hasn't cost me a penny in repairs(touchwood).NCT next month so fingers crossed.
The 140 has a reputation as an oil burner though,so to be honest you would be better off to steer clear of one of those,190's seem bulletproof though:D.

There isnt much difference in the insurance really between the 140bhp model and 190bhp so il probarbly go down the 190bhp model,
anyone know any nice ones for sale, budget isnt huge, thanks

Ill sell you a lovly yellow one, never abused just tortured around mondello :D

Much better choice going with the 190BHP, which are more like 170BHP. Dont be dissapointed if you get it dyno'd and it only make 170. Its what they all make stock.

Great car all tho', Mine has the superstrurt suspension which is expensive to replace but is very much worth it, if you could push the budget try get a TRD Sport M Version, which has a couple of neat extras.

I trashed mine around mondello last month, never missed a beat. The only thing it used was a couple of screws from the engine cover

To be honest yellow wouldnt be top of my list of colours, was thinking more like black or blue or grey.
How much would the TRD Sport M version be, my original budget was between 2 and 5k. do you know any for sale in this price range , or know of any 190bhp model, thanks kieran
