The inquiry that has just produced a report lasted 14 years, are you suggesting that we restart the whole process again?

At the time, this was widely known but nobody was allowed to print it, for legal reasons. Why was Brian Lowry thrown out of Fianna Gael ?

The findings today cannot be used to legal reasons to charge anyone in court. More of a cover-up or diversion to keep the Irish Government from being sued by the losing bidders.

    Who is Brian Lowry?

His name is Michael Lowry, the party from which he was expelled is called Fine Gael and he was thrown out because it was discovered that he had a bogus offshore account to hide money from the taxman after he made a speech in the Dail explicitly saying that he had no such account.

I heard this appalling man, Lowry, on the radio this week doing what I think is known as the Haughey defense of "deny deny deny". Unfortunately, for someone who has been shown to have been a liar in the past, his denials were hollow and shrill, and how anyone votes for him is a mystery.

I remember hearing Beverly Cooper Flynn doing the Haughey Defense in the past, but the electors of Mayo seem to have come to their senses and she is no longer representing anyone.

the problem with the moriarty report is that it cost SOOOOO much money and it just confirmed what we all ready knew, that the moblie license what was issued was paid for by bribery and corruption.

The bloody DPP had better take action on this. I would dearly love to see that slime ball Lowry arrested from his home and shoved in the back of a garda van! That would be the sweetest image of them all!

One of the reasons it took so long was that it was hampered at every stage with legal challenges and the consequent delays cost million. I understand the tribunal has it in its power to award costs for unsuccessful delays to those who brought the unsuccessful challenges, and I hope to do award millions again them.

I bet he won't say to him "you are a "convicted" liar when you told the Dail you had no overseas bank account, you also, as a legislator, lied to the irish tax authorities. How can we believe a word you say?"

Edit: Sorry, I misread that and thought you meant the liar Lowry.

I hope the gardai have enough sets of handcuffs to go round over the next couple of years!
What with all the bankers rounded up and now Lowry, will there be enough 5* accommodation in Cloverhill prison for them all?
And to hear Pat Kenny interviewing Denis O'Brien this morning.
The guy shouldn't be given airtime to give his side of the story. We heard it all and read it all over a 14 year period.
Interesting chat afterwards on the PK radio show when a barrister suggested that O'Brien is in contempt of court for suggesting other judges would circle the wagons around Justice Moriarity. I hope one of the judges summones O'Brien before him for contempt of court.
Interesting to study the coverage given to the Moriarity report by the Indo and Newstalk and other radio stations, given O'Brien's shareholding in them!

I listen to newstalk occasionally and they are certainly concentrating on Lowry and avoiding O'brien.
