For Doc on One, do you have to stream the show or can you save it to listen to when you have no wi-fi or data connection ?

I'm looking forward to the RTE Player app for iPhone and Android.

RTE say it'll be released later this year.

    Hi all,

Owing to the streaming format that Android devices support for live streaming (RTSP), the pocket player may not work on all networks. We have outlined this in the Android Market and sadly it is an issue that is out with RTE’s control. Some Telco’s and ISP’s allow RTSP streaming and some don’t, as is the case for some routers. Its hugely frustrating for us and indeed other broadcasters. We have been trying to contact all Irish operators to allow RTSP traffic on their network but it’s a slow and laborious process to try to get them all.
The RTSP protocol is what is currently required by the current and legacy versions of the Android OS for live radio streaming. We are hopeful that when the next version is released it will support HTTP streaming.

    Regards

    Dave

Are there any plans to use IceCast or SHOUTcast servers for the RTE streams? Wowza is somewhat limiting to devices other than iPhone.

    Use something different :p
Download XiiaLive from the Google Play store to your tab, then launch the RTE stations from www.radiofeeds.co.uk/android

Installed it a while back on my Galaxy Note and all it does it show a white screen.

Worse, there is no entry for it in the Play Store, so it's impossible to uninstall. Does anyone know how to?
