Actually the only outfit I heard of were in fact a well British aerial photo outfit who contracted someone in Ireland to take the pictures. Of course for the life of me I cannot remember their name now. If it comes back to me. I'll post it.

Skytrax Aviation had a 172 based in Ireland for the season last year. They deal in photography from 2000ft or so and would sell door to door.

Depending on what type of photo's you require then the Ordnance Survey Ireland have all of the country covered from 2500ft up to 8000ft Digitaly and using LIDAR and part of the country covered up to 25000ft. Dont know who the high level operaters were (they were on contract from Germany).

The NFC wouldn't be involved in door to door photography. They just supply aircraft to photographers on an ad hoc basis. Several other people do that whether legally or not. Skytrax is the company I was thinking of in fact.

Aerial photography is not confined to commercial organisations like Skytrax. Every flying school offers it, as far as I can tell. The State gets it's aerial photos done by Westair, Duchas, Coillte and so on, who hire aircraft and pilots from the schools.

Westair have 2 Piper Aztecs and 3 pilots permanently contracted to the OSI. Any aerial photo's required by the State are sourced through the OSI in the Phoenix Park.
