    Hi all,

can anyone recommend somewhere in europe that it is possible to get packages (flight + hotel-v busy working and studying and dont really have time to match them up), that is sunny and quiet to go with the bf.

Nice restaurants, but not noisy mad night life, prob budget of 1k each for the week.

Maybe something with some historic buildings etc to see (for him!).

    thanks!

Hi EveT. I came on here with the same question a few months ago and was advised Lagos in Portugal. I checked it up on Tripadvisor and it looks lovely, pretty much what you're looking for so we booked it for May this year, cant wait! You should check it up! Good luck

Lanzarote is nice and quite avoiding the lager lout culture. There are some reports about it here.

Lanzarote is very nice, went there with my girlfriend last year, lovely beaches,so much to see, volcanos, trips to other islands etc.could easily do something different every day.
the weather is about 30 degrees in aug.lovely food and the nightlife is busy but not a crazy ibiza style nightlife.
    would highly reccommend it.
also would reccommend the timanfaya park tour, which is a full day,

Lanzarote or Lagos are both good recommendations - Lagos would shade it for me though in terms of good restaurants though. If you aren't going in high season then the weather in Lanzarote might be more reliable.

Menorca could also be an option. I was 20 when I went and I found it a bit too quiet at the time, but its nice for a relaxing holiday. We stayed in Cala'n Bosch and its got a nice beach and a marina with restaurants and a couple of bars. We also went to a fiesta in the capital, Mahon, which was good fun.

we've booked Malta for 2 weeks in May/June. I think it might hit your wish list - you could base yourself in a quiet spot, but there is plenty to see and do, and with the island being so small, nothing is ever far away anyway. We got 15 nights, half board for less than €1000 )thats for the two of us). We booked ryanair flights and hotel seperate, but you can go to sunholidays.ie and they will do that for you and match it all up, for about the same price (although our hotel is not on their website).
Because we got such a good deal, we've added in 2 nights in Sicily for €200 which includes flights for both of us, hotel B&B and car hire.

Another place you might like is Sardinia? again, cheap flights can be got to there, and alpharooms is great for hotels.

Malta is creaking with history and there's some great quiet places. It can be very cheap if you use the buses and go self catering. Gozo is extremely chilled. There are some nice spa hotels there.

I'd also highly recommend Puerto del Cruz on Tenerife. We got a great self catering for 420 for two weeks back in Feb. It's very popular with Scandinavians and Germans and prices and quality are generally better than the more frequented south of the Island. On top of that it's in a tropical valley on the side of a massive volcano. I'd love to go back.

    + 1 for malta,

was surprised how nice it was, was fairly quiet but we knew that before going and was by far the cheapest sun holiday when we booked (last summer)

I'd recommend Tenerife but stay out in Fanabe or Costa Adeje as they're quiet & has a lovely beach with thick leather mattresses & straw umbrellas, you'll think you're in the Carribean but for much cheaper. Unless you like fairly intense heat July & August can be quite hot, so June is usually the best time to go, temperatures of up to 30C.

Can't recommend this area enough, 10 minutes in a taxi down the motorway & you're in the very heart of partying in Playa de Las Americas. However there's a beautiful hotel called La Plantacion del Sur, i can't recommend it highly enough, (it's also number 1 on trip advisor). The views are amazing, as is everything about the hotel. If you walk down the (steep) hill there are plenty of bars & lovely restaurants within 5 minutes walk.

As for the BF there's plenty to see. You can go & see the volcano Teide, it's in the middle of the island. There's cliffs called Los Gigantes (similar i think to Cliffs of Moher) just half an hour away. You can also travel to the capital Santa Cruz & see all the architecture there (you could indulge in some retail therapy if that's your kind of thing)

Enjoy wherever you choose to go :)
