    According to Sky, one back at base they other still in rebel hands but on his way back. Reports of civilians being shot. Americans will make a statement later on it.

    Oooops...

    Deliberately targeted after it crashed in order to make sure sensitive equipment wasn't taken to be analyzed by the Libyans or anybody they might sell it to. Normal enough.

    Ah I misread the tweet. Thought it was a stating that the F15 had been downed by a US missile.

    which may explain why some rebels and civvies were hurt when the US bombed the position although apparently according to some sites the pilot called in air strikes between himself and approaching soldiers, not knowing whether they were friendlies or not.
