This may be an obvious question, but if you are buying for instance software from a company based in another country, how do you persue a legal issue?
    What would be the juristiction?
Say for example I have purchased software with a lifetime license a few years ago for a video game. The game itself would have been updated a few times, and then the software which i purchased would be updated along with it.
Continuing this hypothesis, imagine the game recently updated to a newer version, and now the software company is charging lifetime license holders an upgrade fee.

    Thanks

Check the contract and small print. It is more than likely in there somewhere - State of ....... Delaware!? Jurisdiction issues arise all the time in the EU and farther afield. Turns on the issues in hand, as you say hypothetically speaking!
