Cigar recommendation?

I'm heading out for a smoke with a few like minded friends and am looking for a cigar recommendation.
I recently had a Montecristo "A" gran corona and it was rather delicious so I was going to buy a pair/trio of those for the evening but, as ye know yourselves, there is always something nicer out there as yet undiscovered. :)

I'm happy enough with the vitola, the gargantuan size will be perfect as I'll have a good 6 hours of relaxed and uninterrupted smoking time available.
The "A" is not the strongest of cigars I've smoked (good thing from my point of view) and flavour wise it was very constant through the whole of the smoke, wood & leather mostly with just a little spice.

Anyone know of other cigars that might make for an interesting comparison to it?

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

The Monte A is a great cigar, but finding one that not only tastes well but also draws and burns equally well, is like winning the lottery! Especially the ones from late 90's, early 00's are notorious...

I always love getting a pleasant surprise from a cigar I didn't expect to be good, and it is great when you surprise others with it too. My favourites from that category would be the Rafael Gonzalez Lonsdale (can sometimes be a hit and miss, but when its a hit, it hits the spot), the Sancho Panza Belicoso (with at least 5 years of age) and the Diplomatico No.2 (again some age is required).

The Rafael Gonzalez is a great smoke, but the size is a little tricky; it can get too hot if you smoke too fast. The Sancho Panza is mild, but very consistent and flavourful. The Diplomatico is just gorgeous!

But then, you could always go with the old, trusty Partagas Lusitanias...

Hopefully we'll get to catch up in one of the next herfs!

    Y

As ever El Greco you are a mine of wonderful information. :) I'll try a Diplomatico No.2.

There are only a handful of Cuban A sizes and all of them are discontinued aprt from the Montecristo. One to try that can still be easily found in the A size is the Sancho Panza Sanchos. Failing that if you like big cigars, as el_greco suggested, the Partagas Lusitania is a good choice as is the Ramon Allones Gigantes or the Saint Luis Rey Double Corona.
