To me that sounds pretty dear. I saw nice invitations in Easons for about €6 for a pack of 10. They didn't come with RSVP cards though.

I made my own invites and mass booklets, and it worked out at about €300 including buying a new printer (old one broke halfway through) and it didn't take very long. The invitations were actually more complicated than the mass booklets, I found, because it was awkward trying to print the inside and outside and get it to turn out the right way up.

Do you know anyone who's handy with a computer and printer who'd be able to help you put mass booklets together?

Marks & Spencers have a good range, a few styles / prices to choose from.

I got 80 invites, 80 ceremony booklets, 80 RSVP cards and 150 place cards for c.230euro. When you spend 10euro on the range you get the free CD which allows you to word the invites how you like (the invites consist of the outer card and inner paper which you put in your printer and also a gold elastic string to hold it all together) and print them yourself. They also have small invites that you just fill in, 10 for 5euros I think, very cheap anyway :)

OP thats really expensive if you ask me.

Personally we will be making our own. There are many places online to buy the materials needed, card, ribbon etc etc

So if you are willing to do it yourself you will be able to do far better.

FYI we are getting our stuff from here

I got mine done through a printing company and they were very reasonable and designed them exactly how I wanted (had to buy the envelopes myself online and worked out inexpensive) Shop around - your quote is very high!

    €700 is madness.

We made our own using paper and bits from Daintree. They give you free templates and guides for making your own. I think in the end we spent about €250 on paper, envelopes and ribbon for 150 invites (with RSVP cards) and 100-odd mass booklets.

Yes, making your own is a little painful, but shouldn't be too much hassle for only 70. One person on their own could do them all in about 2 hours sitting in front of the telly. I think it's important though that you involve someone who knows their way around MS Word and printers.

I have to +1 to this, I'd be good with computers and my husband is good with printing (once we worked out which way the card had to go in first), so we flew through the invitations, and then for the booklets my SIL helped us put them together. The actual printing took about half an hour, then hubby put the pages together, SIL stapled them, and I folded them. Got the lot done in about 2 hours and we made 100 booklets.

The only thing is if you're not comfortable with computers, this could be difficult for you. As I said, if you know someone who's good with computers and they can help you, get them on board! Making your own can actually be a lot of fun, and you'll know that yours are original!

You wont get much cheaper than these. 10 handmade personalised invites for €6.37 inc postage.

I seen a company selling these at a wedding fair for 2.50 each.

I used DIYweddings, they were great. you do need to be clever enough to work with the templates for the invitation wording etc.
I did hear of Walshprinting in castleisland kerry, they'll post you samples and all the bits and you can place your order.. my cousin used them 100 invites, rsvps, thanks yous for 180eur...

Thanks everyone for your replys and advice. Ive had a look at diywedding and its very appealing as the prices are great. Im sure I can rope in some help if I need it. Im just wondering would I be able to get the template printed out in a Print Shop? Im not great on all that stuff so would definatly need help. Im still hoping to take the easy route and get them made for me but my search is not going great as a lot of companys charge mad prices!! Im wondering is there anywhere in the meath direction that does Wedding Invites? All my searches are bringing up Dublin based places?

If you are going to do some diy then you have to have a look at http://www.daintree.ie/ they have an amazing selection. My advice is watch the paper sizes here as it can ad up. I always call into the shop when I'm passing because I love looking at the hand made paper. Unfortunately this shop is in Dublin also but I'm pretty sure you can order online.

Another DIY option is www.cardsandpockets.com. They have a much better selection than Daintree and DIY Wedding imo and they work out pretty cheap.

    700 is absolute madness!

Also used Vistaprint for invites, envelopes and RSVP postcards (100 free!) and the quality was excellent...
Use Photobox for thankyou cards, also v.reasonable
