A friend send me a link to an interesting job advert today. It is for an air hostess job. The recruitment is being run by an Irish based company, but the job is located in Saudi Arabia.

    Some of the requirements are:

for the position of VVIP Female Flight Attendants
Minimum age of 28 years old / Maximum age 35 years old

    And my personal favorite:

Maximum height 170cm with weight proportionate

Here is a link to the job:

They have discriminated on gender. They have discriminated on age. And I assume they have also discriminated on physical appearance.

But as the job is located in Saudi Arabia, is it against Irish law?

The law of the land where the person will be working will apply AFAIK.

That's what I thought, thanks. Still think the requirements are funny!

Do no Irish jobs have a BMI requirement?

The Gardaí does. Can't exceed 30 or be below 18.

I reckoned they would all right any others? A Irish airline perhaps?

I've seen this on Irish Airline ads - an airline is a confined space with safety requirements so there are legitimate reasons for size. If they said "No Mingers" it might be different :)
