Hey guys, so in the Raw thread someone mentioned that No Face has worked dark matches for Raw already - any idea when his debut will be?

I know nothing of his past work, but have seen his finisher which is awesome (fingers crossed the WWE allow him to keep it!). Does anybody have any youtube links to his best matches??

Ya, put me down for the day after Mania. Maybe on SD so ~4 days after mania lol.

Back in the day you'd always have someone debuting the day after Mania (2002 Brock, 2003 Goldberg....)

I loved Brocks debut. He just looked so big and angry.

Must give WWE credit for building him up so well.

Great video packages before an initial debut are generally a curse though.

I seem to remember Ultimo Dragon had a similar good build up and he never amounted to anything in WWE. Similar to a re packaged Sean O Haire. Poor Ol Waylon Mercy long time back as well.

I am sure there are a few more, and of course a few which will defeat the point.

That was bloody gold. He did look like Paul Heyman in white tho! At some point I'm gonna have to create a character along those lines. And Sean o'Haire's Devil's Advocate too. :pac:

Back to Sin Cara, his promos have been extremely simple, showcasing some fantastic high spots, but slowing them down so you can see them, and gradually adding more colour to the vignettes (started as mostly black, adding a lot more blue and gold) ........i'm well impressed with these vignettes.

TNA would never hold off something like this, it's far too slow, grandiose and simple!

Just due to the huge Mexican interest there's no way they can **** this up. They have probably the biggest name coming out of Lucha Libre for at least 5 years.

Possibly but I'd say he won't fare too badly

They did, relatively speaking, balls up Goldberg. Anybody coming from outside McMahon-land must always be wary of what's going to happen them.

Im worried wwe will make a ****ing shambles of this :(

Now I think he would be better off in TNA even with the ****e that goes on there

That would be the equivalent of Waterford United signing Chicharito. He deserves to be watched by more than just one man and his dog.:pac:

I think WWE will handle Mistico well. They did an absolutely brilliant job with Mysterio in fairness, far better than anyone could have hoped at the time.

Nope. I know its crazy but the x division (even thou its not what it use to be) would be ideal for Sin

Alberto isnt exactly in the Dark Match Battle Royal there at Wrestlemania either now. I think they'll do a great job with him. They had a press conference for him and all.

Kaval is no where near the level of a draw that Mistico is, even someone with Kaval's arrogance would admit that.

He is to important for them to mess up.

TNA wouldn't have a bulls notion what to so with him. They'd probably take his mask off and have him doing skits trying to sneak across the border or something.

Kaval is a complete twat backstage though and his ego has caused him trouble in several places he has worked in the past, si i don't really blame WWE too mush for that one. WWE's record with the so called super workers like Danielson, Rey etc is actually pretty good. The build they're giving Mistico suggests to me they're serious. Rey won't be around in a couple of years I'd imagine, he's in bits, so there's a spot on the card just waiting for him to assume.

I wouldn't agree with that. Del rio had a huge build up package and Lots of video packages and was a huge sucess

It was an off-the-cuff remark, it doesn't really warrant deep analysis. It was an exaggerated way of saying that TNA are normally poor/illogical in their booking in the Russo era.

well thats true pope is the only one I can think off and quite a lot off wwe stars have made their way to tna in recent years.

Anyway very excited by Mistico, is it Smackdown we're anticipating him to show up on

Think I've seen he's being advertised on future Raw house shows...which would suit, cause I'd adore seeing him in Dublin...

Id say they'll build him up slowly after he comes in. Like give him a few good wins before any feud. Build him up how they want him & how they want fans to see him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 59 ✭✭Matt986

I'd love it if him and Rey Mysterio formed a tag team. They'd be like the Mexican Hardyz...only with more integrity and whatnot. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭SilverFox261

If they put him in matches with people with the intention of putting on a wrestling match rather than jobbers they could build him very well. I'd say they could put on great matches if he was to go up against Evan Bourne, Danielson, Morrison etc, just for their ability to be able to move around the ring at a pace that would be similar to the lucha libre style.

    Can he speak English?

If he can't it'll be really hard for him to properly get over with the live crowd.

Sin Cara officially made his debut for WWE at the Raw house show on Friday night in Champaign, Illinois defeating Primo.

In fairness, I don't remember Rey cutting a promo in the first year or two of his WWE run, nor has he ever really cut a memorable promo in his career.

Rey was in WCW for a few years before WWE though, in a tag team with Billy Kidman - they might even do the same for Mistico and stick him in a tag team with Evan Bourne or somebody, for me preferably with Zack Ryder! Someone who'd do all the mic work anyway!!

Ha ha ha "Charisma Vacuum" Evan Bourne lol.

Zack Ryder would be amazing but i can't see it :( Take care, spike your hair :pac:

If Edge & Christian weren't doing a program together i'd suggest one of those...also maybe Kofi? Or maybe we're overthinking it and he'll hang around Mysterio

Sin Cara will have his live TV debut on Raw next week:
WWE has announced that Sin Cara will make his TV debut on next week's edition of WWE Raw, which is being held in Atlanta, GA, the night after WrestleMania 27.

Thought I'd bump this to ask a question :

Will this Sin Cara push work out? Will he become a star in WWE, or will they cut their losses and release him in a year or so?

    Pros
    + V. impressive high flyer
    + He's a Triple H project
+ Masked Rey Mysterio is on the way out -> Merchandising

    Cons
    + Can't speak a lick of english
+ Had unimpressive matches so far (Chavo got blamed/fired over it)
+ He's apparently not adapting well to the WWE/style
+ Reportedly "having" to bring in CMLL's Averno to work with him

So what do you think - Fired? or a Success?

His Daniel Bryan match was very impressive.

Crowd is reacting to him and his merch is selling very well according to the Observer.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,520 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

He will be sound. He has already shown he can adapt by getting rid of an unworkable finisher against most people (The top rope move he was using) and replaced it with a new version of la mistica, simply ditched the arm bar submission part.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,128 ✭✭✭drayme

He also fell on his feet being paired off with Cody who is underrated in the athleticism department.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,235 ✭✭✭✭flahavaj

He will be fine and will make WWE a tonne of money over the years. People underestimate the difference between the lucha style and the WWE American style of wrestling. Its a difficult transition for a guy like Mistico to make who worked a really complex style in Mexico. Once those little problems are ironed out he'll be huge. WWE have invested a lot of money and resources in him and rightly so.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 148 ✭✭Smoshi

i think hes doing fine. for a guy they brought in and has not yet had a proper feud, fans are taking to him quite well.

the move to SD! was for the best and his list of current opponents are spot on. Looking forward to seeing where he goes.
