My boyfriend is a runner and needed new racers I've a pair of lunar lite + ordered for him thing is he got his gait analysis done today and he was told he's a severe overpronator ! Will the lunar be any good for him? Thanks!

Lunarlite probably won't be much good for a severe overpronator. They're really designed for min to mod overpronators. Does he run long distances? If he's a long distance runner they should be fine for doing short fast runs or even just to use as a racing shoe for short races. A lot of people get recommended shoes that are no good to them and finding the right shoe is largely about trial and error.

Hi thanks for the reply. He runs mostly long distance marathons to 10 miles the odd few 10ks but he prefers long distance . I tried looking online but can't seem to find a racer to suit. With him being an overpronater does that mean racing flats wouldn't be suitable? If so what are the alternatives to flats?

    Sorry for all the questions

Racing flats aren't usually recommended for overpronators, if he doesn't generally wear them he should probably really ease himself into them. The dynamic support in nikes lunar range supposedly adapts to your stride. From memory the lunarlite is a very lightweight shoe and should be ok for him up to 10k or so. With Nike shoes, something that is being widely recommended at the moment for overpronators looking for a faster shoe is the lunar fly, I'm not sure if these are available in the UK or Ireland though, I know they're available in the states though.

Otherwise for an overpronator, a good racing flat would be Adidas Tempo, a few people on here would use them, they're a comfy shoe, very light and very fast. A lightweight shoe I'm a big fan of is Saucony Fastwitch they've a larger heel than your average lightweight/racing shoe but if he really does overpronate quite badly it may be more suited to him. A few posters on here would use the Asics DS trainer, don't know much about them myself.

Another of the newer ones is Saucony Mirage.

All of the above, but the lunarfly would be available in most decent Irish running stores/online retailers.
