This probably sounds stupid, but I just passed my test and I'd hate to be caught, so is there any chance that the alcohol will still be in my system in the morning? 2 cans of bud at 11pm-12pm and I'm driving at 8am? Pls help cos I dont want to take a risk

Do you weigh more than the 2 cans?

Only if you get to sleep in the next 10 mins!

..... brush your teeth & have a big bowl of porridge in the morning ..... :D

You should be fine, no more than two tho ;)

It takes the body roughly one hour to remove 285ml of "regular strength beer" from the body. You'll be fine.

Well most people would say it depends on your size ,weight etc. and whether you have eaten before you drank the beer but if you do intend driving in the morning ,it wouldn't do any harm to drink a pint of water now....but personally from a fella that used to have few scoops and drive home, no , i wouldn't risk it ...it's not worth it believe me I know!

God, might just get a taxi to work so. What a waste of money, didnt even want the 2 cans but felt that I had to drink them cos a flatmate (who i barely know) was leaving.

Bloody hell, does no one really know this?
Don't get a taxi, you'll be well under the limit.

Ah here you'll be grand. 2 cans is nought, they'll be out of your system in a couple of hours. Drink some water and get to bed now young man.

By 8am you will be perfectly legal to operate a vehicle after 2 cans.

I am no expert but if you were to drink 285 ml of "alcohol" im pretty sure that would cause some serious health problems. I think you mean alcoholic beverage maybe?

No, I meant 100% Ethanol that we all drink in pubs.

Cool. Thanks for clearing that up.

btw where are these pubs that you speak off?

I once drank two cans and then decided a night out wasn't for me and after an hour drove home, was breathalised on the way home but passed. I'm only about ten stone. While I'm not suggesting you can safely do that, you'll be grand in the morning!

So 285ml of alcohol would be about the content of 0.7 litre bottle of vodka.

Are you saying that you can drink whole bottle of vodka, and be sober after an hour?

    Fine, ill say it.

    Beer.

That's all because legal limit in Ireland is very high. The highest in Europe.

    Beer.

    That's still very not precise.
Beer can contain 3% of alcohol, the same as 8%.
2 pints of 3% stuff, will be still less than 1 pint of 8% beer.

Hence "roughly". See the DrinkAware website.

    I just check on http://www.rupissed.com/

If I drank 6 pints at 11pm, of 4.9% alc vol. beer, I would be over the limit.
If it was 5, a 8 in the morning I would be below limit.

But I definitly wouldn't trust that website so much.
