    Hello

I am travelling to Barcelona soon and I am looking for information about where would be the best place to stay.
There are three of us going and we are looking for something cheap enough. We are also looking to stay in an area which would be considered safe. I do not know Barcelona at all so if anyone could suggest areas that we could look for accommodation in it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Best places to stay if you want to be safe is Barceloneta and the Gothic quarter. Have a look at this interesting Web site to find good apartment possibilities: Barcelona apartments

Barceloneta maybe, but the Gothic Quarter? Hardly. That said, Barcelona is hardly dangerous. I've stayed there twice. Once in Barrio Xino (Chinese Quarter and Muslim Quarter) - it's a studenty area, lively, fine to walk around at night but, like Dublin, keep vigilant.

Before that, I stayed in the delightful Gracia district north of Las Ramblas. 100% safe and a real nice student/trendy/old lady vibe to the place. A real city district.

If it's a few of you going and you're there for a few days, it may be worth you getting an apartment. It can work out quite cheap. Alternatively, I stayed in a trendy basic hotel/hostel called Gat Xino. There's another one near the Habitat shop. Check it out.

What about transfers from Airport to city centre.

Was trying to price the cost of a trip for me, OH & 2 teens and looking @ €140 for pickup and return transfers ?

    Does this sound reasonable ???

Which airport. From Barca airport you can get the train for a few euro, from Reus the bus is about ten euro one way.
