    Would you open it?

    Would you burn it?

Let someone else read but swear them not to tell you?

I'd open it and change the date to 3012.

I dunno OP, if the world was gonna end in 15 minutes would you want to know?

I'd open it. It would let me prioritise things. No point slaving away at work/college and saving money every month if I haven't got long left.

I would burn it. The hell of the day when you know you are going to die wouldnt be worth it.

    Defo open it!

I'd open it and then get on to the legal discussions forum looking for loopholes because it left out a fada or something.

The burn option would be my choice also.

Id kill myself using the letter, start by paper cutting the fook out of myself. While I slowly bleed to death I would stuff it into my mouth and choke myself with it....no letter is gona tell me when im gona croak it.

Open it - life assurance policy would be multiplied by 10 the month before it would happen - and depending on the date, simply get on with it. If it said I would die when I was 82 - what difference would it make now - fúck all!

If it meant i was literally immortal up to that date then I would.

But what if the act of burning it caused a house fire which led to your death. Which meant that that day's date would have been in the envelope. But it wouldn't have happened if you had opened the envelope. In which case the envelope cannot be trustworthy. Eep

I don't think I'd be able to stop myself from opening it.

I'd be too busy opening the other envelope beside it with the euro millions winning numbers.

You'd probably mess that up and have a slow lingering death, finally passing away 24 hours later.

+1 -> And I'd take out a life insurance policy a few days before, so my family wouldnt have to pay for it...

No way in hell would I open it!

I can't believe you all would. You're all mad :D

If I did that, the letter would definitely have a typo in it.

Ah come on! If someone said to me, "Oi! Eve_Dublin! There's a letter over there on the kitchen table for ye...the guy who delivered it said it has the time you're going to die on it", it's fair to say I'd presume the guy was Mr. Loopdeloop from La La Land and I'd throw it in the bin. And try to get Mr. Loopdeloop sectioned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,488 ✭✭✭celtictiger32

definately open it, id just think of all the things im not supossed to do or cant do and do them. whats the worst that can happen;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,215 ✭✭✭Mrmoe

Open it without a doubt, knowing the day you die would focus you to not waste your life.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,669 ✭✭✭Tin Foil Hat

I'd have to open it. The suspense would be too much for me. If the date was in the near future I'd re-seal it and slip it through my neighbours door for the laugh. He's a pain in the hole.

I would try to find the guy who left in the letter, ask him for the next days winning lotto numbers. If they came up i would now know how much time i would have to spend my winnings,If they did not come up i might be even richer not knowing when i was going to snuff it.

I'd open it, and if the date was indeed some time in the future, I'd shoot myself before it. Because I'm just that stubborn!

The suspense of not knowing when you're going to die?

Yeah, thankfully we don't have to live with that every day as it is.

    Oh wait.

    :(

Yeah I'd open it. It's scary that you don't know what day will be your last.

I'd open it and plan my life and priorities around it.

It says 'today' inside and it's a letter bomb. 100% accurate.

I'd open it, not saying I'd want to but I wouldn't be able to help myself, just too nosy...

I'd tear it open in a heartbeat. If it's a long long time off then happy days. If it's a relatively short amount of time I'd drop out of college and start doing stuff that makes me happy until I die of sheer joy.

I would open it, found out the date and then start jumping from building to building.

I wanna say burn it coz that's a horrible way to live knowing when you'll die but then having already known I could have known the date would also drive me mad....hmmmmm

The letter could still of been right though.

Nope, would burn it. Would be afraid it would consume my thoughts too much and you dont know how you would really react if you got the exact date and time.
I always thought if I was dying I would like to know, but 2 years ago myself and son ended up in intensive care after his birth and I realised after that I would prefer to be blissfully ignorant of my final demise.

Pity you weren't there on the day you were supposed to die to get the letter saying...

    ONLY JOKING!
