As opposed to what? A CELT? A TEFL cert? It depends where you want to teach, how long for etc.

You can find schools that are accredited by Cambridge to do the CELTA here: http://cambridgeesol-centres.org/centres/teaching/index.do

Well was thinking seriously of making it as a career and the above examples you used how does a CELTA match them?

The CELTA is accredited by Cambridge, the others aren't. The courses are pretty similar, but the CELTA is more recognised internationally. It costs a few hundred euro more and is arguably a little more detailed. If you only want to work in TEFL for a year or so, then the CELT might be a better option depending on where you want to go. However, the CELTA will definitely open more doors as it is the industry standard. Many schools will not even consider you unless you have a CELTA.

There's a CELTA/CELT thread in this forum which might be worth having a look through. Hope this helps!
