Quick question about the Wilton roundabout in Cork.

When coming from the sarsfield roundabout and taking the third exit off the Wilton roundabout, the inside lane breaks into 2 so there is effectively 3 lanes. Am I right in saying that for the 3rd exit you should stay in the middle lane and If taking the 4th exit one should take the outer lane?

No way is that correct! The right hand lane according to the 'general rules' for roundabouts is for the right-hand or 3rd and subsequent exits. This is /can be overruled by the arrows on the lanes. This lane has a right arrow so it is for the right-hand and subsequent exits. Of course many people take the middle lane and put pressure on the people taking the proper lane. They do this out of ignorance and/or to make it easier for themselfs. Once a critical no. of wrong lane abusers has been reached ( pick a no.> 50%!)it is now safer to follow the bad behaviour. (now to follow a 'safer' route rather than a correct route may be more prudent and could be seen as responsible driving!)
Sooo to sum up ....'tis as clear as mud- but you should use the right-hand lane! Also if you are doing a test.:D:rolleyes:

does not matter if the tester wants you pass, you will pass, if you drive so well, feel you pass, wait till you go to the room, the system has a flaw and they need money from us
