EveT, I am in the same position as you, really don't know where to start or what to start in to. So today I just started going over some financial reporting stuff (very basics), becuase it seems to have the most stuff in it.

To be honest I just hope to have all my notes printed and organised by study leave so I am ready to hit the ground running when that starts. Just wondering actually when do most ppl get their study leave, I know it differs from firm to firm.

    Don't go into this aimlessly...

A genuinely good place to start would be

    • suss out which of these papers will you struggle at most
    • which one the least
Thereafter, make a broad study plan. Give most the time to the most difficult.

    Next step

    • Read the exam papers calmly; as in all of them. Just get a general idea of the themes running through them, whats going on etc. Read them as though you weren't taking the exam, and you just wanted to know what this whole CAP 2 thing is about.

    • Read the examiners reports.

Make some general and quick notes on that 45 mins of work; pin it to the wall.

This is your focus to keep in the backdrop; now start doing questions questions questions, and more questions, and then some more.

And as for the suggested solutions, I would forget them. They are written by a very experienced person and are just a public chance for the institute to show off how high their standards are, how great they are etc.

    Hi Guys,

I mislaid the Financial Reporting IFRS standards book - does anyone know where I can buy it again - at a reasonable price?
