HTC Desire HD - Which Internet connection gets priority?

    Hi,

    Apologies if this is already answered elsewhere, but couldn't find a similar thread.

    I got a new HTC Desire yesterday, and have it connected to my WiFi network at home as well as through Vodafone. If I am downloading stuff at home within the range of my WiFi, will the phone know to prioritise that connection over the 3G connection?

    If not, is there a setting I should change?

    To save battery life in general, you should only turn on your 3g/wifi when you need to, and that way they won't both ever be on at the same time. If they do happen to be on at the same time, then wifi takes precedence when you are connected to both.

    They are never on at the same time apart from when you send an MMS while connected to Wi-Fi.

    If the device can connect to a wireless access point it will give that priority and connect to Wi-Fi and take down your 3G connection.

    When it loses a Wi-Fi connection it will bring back up your 3G connection.

    Better off turning off the mobile internet just incase the wifi disconnects when your downloading. Almost 50 yoyos credit of mine gone because of it already.
