Best cartridge pumps?

I have a minipump in my saddlebag which will get tyres up to and just about beyond 80psi. But doing longer spins now I can't take the risk of being 60km from home and running on a soft tyre. So I'm going to go for a CO2 pump should save some room in the saddlebag too.

Cyclesuperstore are selling these for €20 along with a 5-pack of cartridges for €10. Works out €5 cheaper than ordering from bike24. Seems like a good deal, probably at least a years worth of catridges and a nice neat pump.

    Any opinions?

What pump have you got? I ve a lezyne road drive that gets fairly close to 100psi. I had to blow up the back tyre pre a spin with the club sat and used it and it was virtually like using a track pump.

I ve CO2 too but rarely bring it as it takes up a decent amount of space in the back pocket and is quite heavy.

You might run out of gas. You don't run out of arm.

I've ridden well over 15k km with only CO2 as my pump. I'll take my chances

I was impressed after using aidan's one of these: Genuine innovations pump.

My Lezyne one decided to stop regulating the flow of gas, I borrowed his and it was a much sturdier piece of kit.

Also agree you'd need a pump as well as CO2 for the longer spins, alot easier replacing a tube if you slightly inflate the new tube before putting it in the tyre and it's pretty hard to do that with CO2 without emptying the canister.

I've one of these which I think combines the best of both worlds

The pump when you unscrew the CO2 handle is small enough to fit in a smallish saddle bag or alternatively you can mount it and the co2 canister to the frame. Pump is sufficient to get to 80psi, or 100psi if you really go for it breaking a sweat.

Lumen has a good review of the pump including the number of strokes required to get to 100psi but can't seem to find the thread. It's at least 6 months ago since I read it while researching my purchase.

If you had seen him change a puncture beforehand, you might have thought twice about your purchase.

For GBP38 you can have this inflator (which I use) and 30 cartridges. GBP15 of that is shipping and will cover up to 300 cartridges. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055852108
