How long should this last?? Got a filling about a month ago and the tooth is very sensitive since. Normal?

I am in the same boat, got a filling over a month ago now and it is still extremely sensitive when I chew.

Me too. I had a deep filling in a back molar last Wednesday & I have an intermittent throb in the tooth since. I'm very nervous that the dentist will do a root canal when I go back. Hoping it will settle down before then.

My tooth that I got filling in and tooth below it are both extremely sensitive now. Had to go back to the dentist after I got the filling because the teeth did not touch (filling too large) since then pain has gotten worse.

I will have to go back to the dentist with this. Will I be charged to get this sorted and what will he have to do???

    Any advice appreciated.

This answers all of the above

Call your dentists who restored these teeth.Any other response is mere speculation.

I had a deep filling done on my front tooth 2 weeks ago. The dentist said as it was quite deep root canal might be necessary. The tooth was sensitive to cold drinks for a few days afterwards but the symptoms have pretty much abated but still ever so slightly sensitive since then. The dentist inspected it recently and said RCT wasnt needed unless an infection set in the future . My tooth was not throbbing though. From reading online if the tooth is throbbing it maybe sign that rct may be needed so id say see the dentist if it is still throbbing.
