    Hi All,

There's a bearing(bushing) gone in the fan in the engine of my punto. It makes noise if i drive any long distance. This doesnt bother me - but i'm wondering will it fail the NCT because of it. My mechanic is trying to get me and second-hand one, but to no avail yet.

    Thanks in advance,

    MIRMIR

Do you mean the fan on radiator?
I can't think of any other fan in the engine...

PS. AFAIK bearing and bushing are completely different things

The bearing in the cooling fan in my 206 is also going, about to collapse apparently. Got quoted €235 to fix it - is this too much - am I being ripped off?

Should be ok for the NCT. Id be more worried about cooking the engine...

Well it probably has lots of hours left in it before it seizes so once you are working on sourcing a replacement it should be fine in the interim.

Its the radiator fan i think. It's been like it for a long time - never gave any trouble - i'd turn off engine if stopped in traffic etc to stop it overheating. I dont travel too far to work and thats all i use it for really - so i dont want to spend a lot on it.
