I am in the 2nd year of my degree and I am going applying for the H-Dip with this years results. I was wondering is it possible to supervise a special centre (Jc/Lc/Lca) without being fully qualified or having done the H-Dip as I know the principal on the local secondary school fairly well and was going to ask her for it. would it be an advantage when applying for the H-Dip to already have your name in with them and does it add any points.

It will not add anything to your points nor will it give you any advantage in applying for the PGDE.
It is worth a try asking your principal, however, I assume like most schools, preference will be given to part-time teachers/subs/teachers not on full hours.

Doesnt always work as well as this... I didnt get it last year as staff members partners and children always do it! I know its easy but its a huge responsibility and there will apparently be less special centres this year too (hearsay from my staffroom)

    That's very unfair.
There will be less centres in our school this year too.

There will be less special centres in ours too as they moved the goalposts regarding who qualifies - not because we have a sudden drop in kids who need it.
