    Hi folks,
looking to get the bathroom re-done.
Fittings replaced, re-tiled and electric shower installed.
Any recommendations on a supplier who can supply and fit at reasonable costs. (Dublin area).

Tried a few so far, got one crazy all in quote, but most seem to be doing the....oh the sparks is seperate, the tiler needs to give a quote too etc.
Ideally I want one company to deal with, pick out what I want and pay the one bill.

P.s. if the poweres that be dont want companies named...feel free to pm details.

I was in this business for years i can help you with figures or contacts but i will let the other boardsies contact you first as i dont want to seem biased.

As advised please give all recs by PM.

However if you specifically wish to discuss prices then it can be done.

For example: Why is it 600 euro to plumb a t90.....

I'd agree 100% there, if ya cant contact them for a quote, what chance have ya got when things go wrong.

I'm over in Blanchardstown area...not too far off the beaten track.

    I'm in Blanchardstown myself.

I have 2 bathrooms that need renovation. both need new tiles. One needs a bath removed and shower installed. something like the "masten" shower on this page http://www.designerbathrooms.ie/cubicles.php

I need a heated towel rack in each instead of the existing radiators.

I need new wash basins in both with faucets.

I also need a shower pump installed that will suit both at the same time - one bathroom is on a floor above the other with the tank on the same floor as the top bathroom.

I'd be looking for a good deal since getting both done ;)

got no response from here: http://www.renovatemybathroom.ie weird considering the site was promoted with a flier!?!? oh well.

I specifically said not to advertise companies. Please follow my post and give all recomendations by PM. This is the final warning folks. Past history has shown this to get out of hand.

    Just a note

Putting recommendations on a forum - any forum on this site - pretending to just have a recommendation but not disclosing that you own/are employed by/work for/run/are related to the company that you're recommending is a complete no no and you face being banned for it.

    That's exactly what happened here.

Advertising is NOT FREE on Boards.ie. Please support the site by contacting sales@boards.ie if you want to reach our audience.

Honestly, the stupidity/cheek of people sometimes really amazes me.

EDIT: I just found out that the poster sent a not-very-nice PM to one of our volunteer moderators. That too is not on.

Cheers for advice folks....I put this on the long finger, have got a few numbers of places that I will try. I'll update ye accordingly.

Visited a good few of the big names... strange to see so many showrooms that are falling apart, displays etc looking rough... not exactly good advertising for their products or skills!!

A couple of crazy quotes... I dont believe their is a recession.

Having fitted my current bathroom a few years ago (without any tiling or plumbing experience) I know the amount of labour and materials involved, but I'd expect proffessionals buying at trade prices and experienced should be able to do these jobs a lot quicker and neater than me at a decent price.

One quote was €2,000 for materials, plus 3-4 days labour....€4,000!!!

I got <snip>to do mine - 60% through a 2 bathroom complete refit his standard price per bathroom is €2750

that was the one of the best quotes around from insured businesses.

    I got some ridonculous qoutes

    1 = €12000
2= €9800 <-- this one was unitemised "oh yeah no problem" :D
